Important Recital Information

Where:
Berkner High School Auditorium
Spring Valley & St. John (across from studio)
May 31, 2014 – 6:00 pm

All students in Act I must report backstage to the Berkner H.S. auditorium dressed in costume and ready to perform their first number at 5:25 P.M. The doors to the auditorium will not open until 5:30 pm. Please remember, you have assigned seats so there is no need to arrive any earlier as you will just have to wait in the lobby.

A lot of time is taken to create the show order. Please understand we have multiple students in multiple dances. Quick changes: If your child has more than one routine in the same act, you will need to bring the other costume back stage when she reports back stage for her first performance. One of the teachers/crew will be assigned to help her change for the second routine.

Stage make-up is needed for all performances (with the exception of the boy’s class). Stage make up consists of the following: lipstick, blush, eye shadow and mascara. (Remember you have to be seen from a distance under stage lights!) Everyone should wear a cover-up.One of your dad’s old button down shirts will work great. Dress the same as for pictures. Please be sure you have everything for your specific costume and label everything with your name. Bobby pins all hair pieces/hats and safety pin costumes to secure them.

If you do not perform until the second act, you will stay with your parents and watch the first part of the show. You must have a ticket to sit in a seat. IMMEDIATELY at the close of the act prior to your performance, you will report to the hallway behind the stage. Please come backstage through the side hall (not the stage door). At the end of the act in which you perform, you should return to the auditorium to watch the show. Parents of the younger children should come to the back Fine Arts hall to pick them up at the end of their last dance. PLEASE DO NOT GET UP DURING A DANCE. The order of the show is attached. Please try to plan to stay for the entire recital so that you can see the progress the students make over the years. Also the students would appreciate your attention and applause.

AFTER ACT I- BEFORE INTERMISSION ALL STUDENTS LISTED FOR 3,5,10 YEAR AWARDS AND SCHOLARSHIPS MUST REPORT BACKSTAGE. These will take place on stage prior to ACT II.

Parking is available in the west parking lot. Parents and guest enter the front auditorium door. We will have a professional videographer and action shot photographer on site working to get the best product for you. NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY IS PERMITTED. No video tripods or standing in the aisle is permitted.
