Melanie started dancing at age 3 and is trained in hip-hop, jazz, modern, lyrical, and drill team. She has grown up at Talent ‘n More’s taking weekly classes as well as being a member of each of the competition teams until she graduated in 2008 from Berkner High School.
After taking two years off from the competition team, Melanie made Shining Stars and was awarded Miss Shining Star by her fellow teammates at the end of the year. During her 3 years as a Berkner Bandolera Melanie was chosen to be a part of Kick-line and Dance-team as well as receiving High Score Returning girl her junior year. She traveled with the team in 2005 to New York City to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and she was selected to be 1st Lieutenant her senior year in 2008. While Melanie was in college she worked for Starmakers Dance Company and was an active choreographer and performer for Texas A&M University’s Dance Arts Society. Melanie graduated in May 2012, is currently an office manager and event coordinator in Addison, TX, and is dancing with the Dallas Dance Company. Melanie is very excited to give back to the studio she was raised at and teach young dancers that are following their passion for performing.
